Ian Lackey
Silverlight SEO: How to be good looking and popular

So you have decided you want one of the ultra cool Silverlight web sites, but are not sure how the search engines will index it. Unfortunately, search engines have not evolved with rich internet technologies as much as we would hope. Join us as we journey through the concepts of SEO (search engine optimization) and how to handle these concepts when using Silverlight on your sites. We will discuss using Silverlight for portions of your site, developing full Silverlight web site using the new navigation framework in Silverlight 3, as well as the future of Silverlight and SEO using Silverlight 4 and ASP.Net 4.

Ian Lackey worked as a Systems Engineer for Primary Networks \ Mpower Communications ISP from 1999 until 2002. At that time, he began developing web applications using ASP and migrated to ASP.Net shortly before the 2.0 release. Ian now works as a full time Programmer Analyst II for the Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine. He also runs a small business, DigitalSnap Inc., that focuses on web sites for small business and non-profit organizations. DigitalSnap also sells DotNetNuke modules and other software via subscriptions through its sister site http://www.itlackey.net. Currently Ian is involved in several community driven areas such as The OpenLight Group which develops and maintains open source projects including several DotNetNuke modules and many Silverlight based applications.
